WEST CHESTER, Pa - Days before Democrats from Chester County meet to endorse candidates for the May 18th primary, Manan Trivedi received a major boost to his congressional bid for the 6th district nomination. The highest ranking Democrat in county office, Commissioner Kathi Cozzone has endorsed the physician and Iraq War veteran, giving Trivedi a strong tailwind moving into the Feb. 20 convention.

Cozzone, first elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2007, had a 20-year career in corporate finance. Cozzone stated that her support of Trivedi came down to his understanding of the community and what needs to be done to create jobs. "Manan was born and raised in this district, the son of factory workers. He knows what our working families are going through in these tough times," said Cozzone. "Southeastern PA needs his job-creation plan, which reflects what our community needs to move forward. We need leaders like Manan in Congress and I am proud to endorse him," Cozzone concluded.

"I am honored to have Kathi's endorsement because of the unique understanding and set of skills she brings to her life as a public servant," said Trivedi. "We need new ideas and a fresh approach to change our community for the better. When I am in Congress, I am confident that Kathi and I will have an effective working relationship to make those changes happen."

Additionally, another Chester County leader has also thrown their support to Trivedi. State representative candidate for the 26th district, Fern Kaufman, who is a former President of the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists is endorsing Trivedi today. Kaufman has been at the forefront of healthcare issues in Pennsylvania.

Manan Trivedi is a primary care physician, former Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy, and an Iraq War veteran from Berks County.
