LOWER MERION, Pa - This week, Democratic candidate for the sixth congressional district, Manan Trivedi, picked up endorsements from several elected officials serving in Montgomery County. Trivedi's campaign continues to add support off of his victory in securing the endorsement of the Chester County Democratic Committee with over 70 percent of the vote.

Leading off this current round of endorsements is Bruce D. Reed, President of the Lower Merion Township Commission.

"Manan Trivedi brings an unique combination of intelligence, education and experience to this Congressional race," said Reed. "Coupled with his familiarity and understanding of the issues facing our area through having been born and raised in the Congressional District, he would be a great representative for us. And once in Congress, his medical and military experience will be invaluable in confronting the country's most important domestic and foreign policy issues."

Trivedi pointed to his medical background as a "cure for what is ailing the federal government."

"As a primary care physician, you are trained to listen first and then provide evidence based solutions that work," said Trivedi. "The system in Washington is broke because the politicians there would rather shout at each other first, and we must change that. I am honored to receive these endorsements because this is about building a working relationship with people from the district who can play a role in getting government to focus on the right priorities."

The following Democratic officials also joined President Reed in endorsing Trivedi:
Jane Dellheim - Lower Merion Commissioner
Paul McElhaney - Lower Merion Commissioner
Elizabeth Rogan - Lower Merion Commissioner
Jeff Harbison - President of the Springfield Board of Commissioners
Larry Rosenwald - Former Lower Merion School Board President

Manan Trivedi is a primary care physician, a former Lt. Commander in the Navy, and an Iraq War veteran.
