Philadelphia - In the race for the Democratic nomination in Pennsylvania's Sixth district, the Ironworkers Local Union 401 has endorsed Manan Trivedi.
"Manan Trivedi is the only candidate in this race who has created and released a comprehensive jobs plan, and has demonstrated to our membership that he understands the needs of working families," said Ironworkers Secretary Treasurer, Joseph Dougherty. "We need more members of Congress like Manan who will stand up and put forth ideas that matter and get our economy moving in the right direction again. I am confident that Manan will serve us well."
The Ironworkers Local 401 is affiliated with the AFL-CIO and the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council.
"I am honored each time an organization representing families who work hard for a living join our campaign. I grew up in a family where both parents worked in the local juice factory and I understand all too well what it is like to have to make ends meet," said Trivedi. "It is as a result of this unique experience that I have developed a plan to get people working again, and do it in a way that looks at accomplishing long term goals. I am glad the Ironworkers will be helping us make that plan a reality."
Manan Trivedi is a primary care physician, a former officer in the U.S. Navy and an Iraq War veteran from Berks County.
