READING, Pa - The following is a statement by former Lt. Commander and current Democratic candidate for Congress in the 6th district, Manan Trivedi honoring Armed Forces Day.
"Each and every woman and man who serves their nation in the military is always proud of the branch they dedicate their lives to. But on this day in which we honor the unification of all armed forces, it is good for us to remember all of those who are actively serving us in uniform.
"As a battalion surgeon during the Iraq War, I was able to meet some of the finest Americans that our country has to offer. Any person who devotes their life to serving in the military; whether it's the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force or Coast Guard, they all deserve our gratitude not just today, but each and every day."
Manan Trivedi is a primary care physician, a former Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and an Iraq War veteran from Berks County.
