Despite the continued threat of terrorism and an increased strain on military families in this tough economy, today Congressman Jim Gerlach voted against funding for America's troops and their families.

"As Americans across the country prepare to honor the sacrifice of our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, Jim Gerlach was in Washington playing politics by voting against a bill that would bring well deserved pay increases to military families, and voting against the bill to fund our troops on the battlefield," said former Naval Lt. Commander and battalion surgeon Manan Trivedi. "The over 60,000 veterans and active duty service members in Pennsylvania's 6th district deserve better from their Representative in Congress."

Manan Trivedi is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Pennsylvania's 6th Congressional District. He is a primary care physician, a former Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy, and an Iraq War veteran from Berks County.
